To tell you the truth, other than football, the original districts in the Region D have never used the "winner gets to host" philosophy. Tournaments have always rotated on a pre-determined basis.
I know when GC came into the LPD, they were used to hosting the basketball tournament when they won the regular season(which was often), but found out that wasn't how it was done in the LPD.
I'm a firm believer that the best team should advance to State Play-off competition, not necessarily the team that won because they had home-field advantage. They are not going to have home-field advantage in the State Finals. With that being said, maybe the state semi-finals should be played as a double-header at a neutral site.
That would be awesome. I'd love that and would drive to see it.

It would not be so bad if Region D was not the only Region to force this. It also would not be bad if they would rotate it. UVA Wise in Football and VA High in Basketball should not be set sites. If Region D wants to do it then do it right.
